Mission Statement
THE "COMBONI MISSIONARIES"
We "COMBONI MISSIONARIES", known also as "VERONA FATHERS" and "VERONA SISTERS", are a "CATHOLIC MISSIONARY ORGANIZATION" founded by Saint "DANIEL COMBONI" and committed to "MISSION in AFRICA", LATIN AMERICA and ASIA.
AN "INTERNATIONAL" GROUP OF PEOPLE
We are an "INTERNATIONAL GROUP" of "MEN and WOMEN": Priests, Brothers, Sisters and Lay People called to live and "proclaim the Gospel" as a community with and international style of life.
IN THE "UNITED KINGDOM AND IRELAND"
We are committed to "Mission Awareness" in the "Local Church", among "Adult People" and "Young People".
"YOUNG PEOPLE"
We work in order to "raise awareness" about the "needs of mission" among "YOUNG PEOPLE" of "SECONDARY SCHOOL" and of "UNIVERSITY", among those who are already "BEYOND SCHOOL" and those who are willing to "reach out" to others by committing themselves as "Lay People": "COMBONI OUT REACH".
"VOCATIONS"
We take particular "care of Young People" who feel attracted to "missionary life" and desire to be helped to discern the "call of God" in their life. The web-site "VOCATIONS" has been created for this specific purpose.
"NEW AGE" - "NEW MISSION"
The challenges of our present "NEW AGE" call the "Comboni Missionaries" and every Christian for a renewed effort to understand our "NEW MISSION" in the present society and in the world. In order not to fall into a mere "inward-looking attitude" but to open up to the "wider horizons" of "Mission in the world" and its challenges.
THE GOSPEL - THE CHURCH
The deepest "CALL and MISSION" of the CHURCH is to "PROCLAIM the GOSPEL" of JESUS to EVERY NATION. In this "family of Jesus" every person, culture and nation feel part, share and promote the "values of the Gospel" in a personal and responsible way and experience the joy of building up a society based on communion, love, generosity, justice, integrity, respect and freedom. Inside this family YOU ARE VERY IMPORTANT.
SAINT "DANIEL COMBONI"
The website "COMBONI YOUTH" is dedicated to and takes inspiration from "Saint Daniel Comboni", and the way he lived his "missionary life" and his "missionary experience". The "SACRED HEART OF JESUS" and the "IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY" were his strength. Their love for him and for the Africans sustained him throughout his "difficult mission". He was born in Limone on Lake Garda, Italy, on March 15th 1831 and spent all his life for God and for the people of Africa. For the Africans he gave his life in Khartoum, Sudan, on October 10th 1881. He wrote: "My first love was for Africa". ‘For Africa I would give "a thousand lives", if I had them'. His "mission and spirituality" will certainly be of "great inspiration" to every one.

Walking in the footsteps of Saint Daniel Comboni, "COMBONI YOUTH" is glad to share some direct "mission experiences" of Priests, Sisters, Brothers and Students presently working in the "London Province" or who spent some time with us here before flying to their "missions in the world".
