His Vocation Story

I was born in the Philippines in 1968, the fifth of six children,   former bank teller.

I came to know the Comboni Missionaries through "World Mission" the monthly publication of the Comboni Missionaries in Asia. I had a good job in a bank but I felt something was missing in my life.

I discovered that in the life of mission I would find fulfilment and meaning. After almost six years of discernment I took the concrete decision of joining the Comboni Missionaries.

The vocation journey

In June 1996 I left my job, my bedridden mother and my family and entered the postulancy.

Since my Noviciate I considered Comboni my “Seraphic Father" because I fell he was a great Spiritual Father, a holy missionary. He was a great model far beyond his time.  His prophetic missionary vision still challenges the Church. I would call him the Patron Saint of regenerating mission.

Since I joined I followed   two   mottos: "Bloom where you are planted" and "Do your best and the Lord will do the rest". I've been tested many times in my missionary journey but I never wavered believing that the Spirit was with me.

My vocation is a gift so my life has to be given back as a gift. Soon I'll be going back to the Philippines to be ordained as a missionary priest. I have been appointed to work in Zambia and I am looking forward to it immensely.
